No one could have predicted, a few bad apples, etc:
(The Star of David is a nice touch.) Wow, that’s a weird isolated incident. I wonder where that guy got those kooky ideas?
In less camera-shy quadrants of the wingnutosphere, Rush Limbaugh, Mike Gallagher, Pat Buchanan, the Freepi, Judith Apter Isosceles Percodan Marcalculate Klinghoffer, and many, many others determine that Colin Powell is a huge racist for endorsing Barack Obama. Because, you see, they are both black. The Media Blog goes a half-step further, proving by induction that all black people are racist, and the only option for decent people is to repay them in kind:
So, the next time a black person throws around the charge of racism feel free to ignore it. Better yet, you might want to tell them that it is nothing more than the pot calling the kettle black.
A bold stand for equality, one which reminds me of a non-racist MLK, Jr., or a Rosa Parks who stood up for racial equality. Over at Floppy Asses they advance a slightly different theory: that it’s not so much that black people are racist for voting for Democrats, as that they are morons, duped by the Demoncrats strategy of lying to negroes. Hello? Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, durr!
Jammie-Wearing Fool goes even further, noting that both black AND white people who vote for Obama are huge racists:
Yes, because it’s OK for them to be racist, so long as they project their racism upon Republicans with their incessant cries of racism. Naturally, it’s fine if 105% of blacks (with ACORN’s help, naturally) vote for Obama. We can’t call that racist, because we’d be racist for pointing that out.
Oh, and I forgot how these racists call anyone who isn’t a racist – i.e., decent white conservatives from real pro-America America – “racists”. In an amazing twist, white conservative republicans are History’s Secret Victims – again! Completing the agony, Donald Douglas attempts a bit of post-racist meta-projection something-or-other which would require a team of psychotherapists and a Klein bottle full of LSD to make sense of:
Just contemplate the loaded racism in that passage: Essentially, folks see Kwame Kilpatrick as a big, black threatening “nigga” (used here non-pejoratively, in the hip-hop sense, but perhaps differently by the working-class whites identified in the Politico).
I swear, one has to be a contortionist to make sense of Democratic Party racial politics.
I mean, think about it: What’s the difference between Kwame Kilpatrick and Barack Obama?
Naturally, Prof. Douglas concludes that there is no relevent difference between these two black men, and that one would have to be a huge racist to think there was. The next 4-8 years are going to be utterly insane.
October 20, 2008 at 5:03 pm
This racism/reverse racism/double-reverse discrimination/oblong prejudice must stop!!!
On the cognitive balance beam, I give JammieWearingFool’s gymnastic performance a 2.4
And this “scumbag racist” white Democrat from Detroit voted for Kwame the first time, and sincerely apologizes.
October 20, 2008 at 5:33 pm
This is 8 billion percent awesome. Note that as it zooms on the map on Fairfield Ohio, the newscast shows a couple of major streets near the guy’s house including Dixie Highway!
Why wouldn’t Ohio honor Dixie? It’s not like U.S. Grant was from there or something. I’m sure that, oh, I don’t know, Paris has the Champs d’ Hitler. Or, if you prefer, Ave. Kaiser Wilhelm.
The Lost Cause is the locus of 90% of all American stupidity.
October 20, 2008 at 5:36 pm
Also: Prof. Douglass is “an asshole” and I mean that in the non-pejorative objective fact sense of the word.
October 20, 2008 at 5:39 pm
I swear, one has to be a contortionist to make sense of Democratic Party racial politics.
Sadly, the same cannot be said of Republican Party racial politics.

Are there recordings of these Lincoln/Douglas debates?
October 20, 2008 at 7:09 pm
From Douglas’ site:
“This is much of today’s Democratic Party, not to mention the bigoted rednecks, and they’re all headed to the White House upon a possible Obama win on November 4th.”
Got that? The bigoted rednecks show up in droves at the Palin rallies *to throw off the Man* and skew His analysis. The fact that everybody knows they’re Republican faithful only attests to the *efficacy of the Dem mind-fuck concealment.*
Also, for laffs, from his profile: “I also abhor irrationalism in argumentation. I welcome comments and debate, and I’ll defend my positions vigorously.”
“…although I reserve the right to effect irrationalistically in argumentational assertations when it suits my rhetoricialistic motivititations. Vigorously!”
October 20, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I think the answer is that Kwame is superbuff. Plus, 5-0 didn’t buy his spiel that it was the wax that Terminator X spun.
October 20, 2008 at 7:26 pm
So why did the tv station try (totally unsuccessfully) to blur out the Star of David? It’s ok to show a black man hung in effigy, but to add antisemitism to the mix is somehow unfit for tv?
October 20, 2008 at 7:45 pm
Congratulations to the Poor Man Institute. The pro-victory professor has labeled this outfit part of the “nihilist leftosphere,” which is, unlike German nihilists, something to be afraid of.

“The next 4-8 years are going to be utterly insane.”
Sounds to me like the last eight years.
And at least, hopefully, we’ll have a decent man in the white house and possibly even a congress that will have the ability, if not the desire, to pass legislation that isn’t batshit crazy.
But yes, a lot of wingnuts are going to go fucking crazy. Well, they’re already fucking nuts, they’ll just feel justified in acting out in more extreme ways than they have before (which is really fucking scary).
I see tranquilizer guns coming into vogue.

We are two days (max) from the Chewbacca defense. Wny, oh why, did Obama do his junior year abroad at Endor?
October 20, 2008 at 9:34 pm
I mean, think about it: What’s the difference between Kwame Kilpatrick and Barack Obama?
Hmm, that’s a great question. They’re both black, they have funny first names, and Irishy-sounding last names. They’re the same guy!
Impeccable logic which must be applied to save us from doom. I mean, think about it. What’s the difference between John Sidney McCain and John Walker Lindh? Both are white, both are Johns, and they have been prisoners of war. They’re the same guy!
October 21, 2008 at 5:10 am
I mean, think about it: What’s the difference between Kwame Kilpatrick and Barack Obama?
Well, for one thing, Kwame Kilpatrick _really_ likes Kwame Kilpatrick, and he doesn’t appear to be all that crazy about Obama. Then there’s the CBC, which Kilpatrick’s mom runs and Obama has consistently avoided since he got into the Senate. And, of course
This is a trick question, right?

Shorter wingnuts (1864 version):
Abraham Lincoln and the Yankees are the REAL slaveowners.
October 21, 2008 at 6:35 am
Well yes, Alex Higgins. Totally. I am sure there were some who used rhetoric like: “Mr. Lincoln and them damn yankees want to make White Americans the slaves of the Negro, but we will NEVAH be slaves, suh, NEVAH. FREE SILVER, I say, I say…”.

How many times have we seen this:
RETARD: I cain’t vote for no Obama, he’s a mooslim.
REPORTER: Actually, as he has said a million times, he’s a Christian.
RETARD: Well, I don’t believe him.
Ah, the old “lying Negro” argument. Which emerges again in this Colin Powell endorsement. Powell lays out 50 reasons why he’s voting for Obama. But he must be lying — it’s because of color!
October 21, 2008 at 7:32 am
as a veteran of the securely wingnut-controlled and highly active yahoo answers politics section (no i don’t have better things i could be doing if you must know :(), i can attest to the awesomeness of this logic.
someone asked the other day “is it ok to vote against obama because i don’t want a black president?”
and someone actually responded with “the liberal blogs will tell you that that’s racist but don’t you listen to them.”
luv it!

Excellent. Sadly, it appears we have been categorized as a “lower 9th-tier blog”, when it is has already been scientifically established that we are solidly C-list.
Why won’t the MSM cover this story?
October 21, 2008 at 8:27 am
The next 4-8 years will certainly have a high entertainment value.
It could be stratospheric, but the value is leavened by the knowledge that many of these folk will reproduce and make my child’s life that much more difficult.

So why not name it Emmett Lane?
Mine is not an original thesis: Scores of this Magnolia-tinted Confederate bullshit is littered throughout former Union States (like, say, Kentucky, which despite being a slave state aligned with the North) — usually put up there decades after the Civil War, and almost always after the rise of the Second Klan post Birth of a Nation. And it was always to rewrite history or claim some touching memorial that brushes over the very reason the Confederacy existed. In other words its bullshit history that we’re still living with because people are too fucking stupid about their own goddamn heritage.
I’m not usually a ninny about PC things, but it’s telling the dumbass crackers of Southern Ohio would rather embrace the song than the creator. There must be some reason for it…If only we could figure out what it was.
